Two residents of Tver (Russia), who appropriated social payments intended for residents of the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson region, were handed guilty verdicts.
Pro-Russian media report this.
The payments were intended for citizens whom the Russian authorities consider “evacuated” from the right bank of Kherson region.
According to the Russian investigation, a 47-year-old man produced forged documents for fictitious persons allegedly relocated from Kherson region. A worker of the local MFC was involved in the scheme, who submitted these documents to the relevant authorities to obtain the payments.
According to the Russians, a payment in the amount of 500,000 rubles had already been received in this way, and another 600,000 rubles were blocked. It was also reported that a housing certificate worth more than 9.5 million rubles had been obtained illegally, and the payment under it was suspended.
The court in Russia sentenced both defendants to suspended sentences: the woman — 5.5 years with a fine of 350,000 rubles, the man — 6 years suspended and a fine of 400,000 rubles.
