The Halytskyi District Court of Lviv found 46-year-old Oleksandr Sapytskyi and 33-year-old Dmytro Nazarchuk guilty of treason and collaborationist activities; they had joined the illegal “DPR” militia and fought against the Armed Forces of Ukraine in temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, including Kherson Oblast.
This was reported by Yevroprostir citing the court verdicts.
Sapytskyi served as a rifleman in the 5th rifle battalion of the 1st army corps of the occupation militia “DPR”. Nazarchuk was a senior commander of a grenade launcher section of the 129th regiment.
They took part in combat operations in the village of Salkove in Henichesk district of Kherson Oblast, in a number of settlements in Zaporizhzhia Oblast and in Novoazovsk, Donetsk Oblast.
The court found them guilty of state treason (part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and collaborationist activity for the enemy (part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The in absentia sentences are 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of all property for each.
Earlier it was reported that Yurii Ogurtsov with the call sign “Vulkan”, who after the full-scale Russian invasion took part in the torture of civilians in occupied Kherson Oblast, received an in absentia sentence for war crimes.
