The Security Service of Ukraine has notified of suspicion the wife of a deputy of the Korablevskyi District Council in Kherson Sergiy Cherevko Larysa Kosenko (Cherevko).
This is stated in the text of the suspicion, which is published on the website of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
Before the full-scale invasion, Kosenko lived in Kherson and worked as the head of the Department of Culture of the Kherson City Council.
On the eve of the de-occupation of the region’s right bank she left with her family for the temporarily occupied left bank and settled in Henichesk. In spring 2024 she began cooperating with the occupation authorities and voluntarily assumed the position of successor to the illegal Minister of Culture of the Kherson region.
In this position Larysa Kosenko is responsible for ensuring that all cultural institutions on the left bank operate according to Russian rules.
In particular, she personally reports on how the Russians bring books from Russia into libraries on the left bank. She travels to occupied settlements, holds meetings there with local collaborators, and plans the work of libraries.
In addition, she participated in events of the party “United Russia” and went to Moscow to an exhibition to represent the occupied Kherson region there.
Larysa Kosenko is suspected under part 5 of article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaborationist activity). She may face from 5 to 10 years of imprisonment.
Before the full-scale invasion, Larysa Cherevko worked as the head of the Department of Culture of the Kherson City Council.
In 2020 she ran for the Kherson City Council from “Vladimir Saldo Bloc”.
