In Kherson, a contract was terminated for the major renovation of the assembly and sports halls of one of the schools. Its total cost amounted to 2.6 million UAH.
This was reported on the social media of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
It is noted that the contract was concluded in December 2021 between the Capital Construction Department of the Kherson City Council and a local entrepreneur.
The contractor received an advance of 296 thousand UAH, and after the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion and the occupation of the city, the works stopped, certificates of completed works were not submitted, and no funding was carried out. At the same time, the contract formally remained in force.
The prosecutor’s office stated that this could have created risks for the local budget of over 2.2 million UAH.
The prosecutor’s office filed a lawsuit seeking to terminate the obligations under the contract. During the consideration of the case, the parties voluntarily terminated its effect, after which the court closed the proceedings.
This may refer to the contract for services for the major renovation of the assembly and sports hall of Kherson Specialized School No. 52.
At that time the Capital Construction Department of the Kherson City Council concluded a contract with local entrepreneur Mykhailo Yuzhny, who had been engaged in construction since 2002.
After obtaining the contract to repair the school’s halls, he received two more subcontracts from the Regional Territorial Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine; these contracts were concluded during the occupation of Kherson – in July and September 2022.
In 2023, Yuzhny ceased his entrepreneurial activity, closing his sole proprietorship (FOP).
