Vysokopillia Hospital in the Kherson region will be demined with funds raised under the Step by Step initiative on the UNITED24 platform. The Humanitarian Demining Center has already held the relevant tenders.
This is reported on the Ministry of Economy’s website.
Thanks to competition among ten mine action operators, the total cost of work on three sites in Ukraine, including the medical facility in Vysokopillia, was reduced from 61.4 million hryvnias to 53.3 million hryvnias.
As Deputy Minister of Economy Ihor Bezkaravaynyi reported, procedures are currently underway to sign a contract with the contractor for the Vysokopillia hospital. This is the first joint project of the Humanitarian Demining Center and UNITED24, which allows engaging private operators to clear important social facilities.
Funds for demining were collected thanks to donors from more than 120 countries. The fundraising was joined by UNITED24 ambassador Liev Schreiber, Gogol Bordello leader Yevhen Hudz, and the organization Help Ukraine Now. In total, more than 1.5 million US dollars were accumulated over two months.
