The head of the Velykoblahovishchenske institution of complete general secondary education, Viktor Viedrikov, has been notified of suspicion of collaborationist activities and aiding the state-aggressor.
This is stated on the website of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
According to law enforcement, the man, while on the occupied territory of the Kakhovka district, agreed to assume the position of the so-called director of an educational institution created by the Russian occupation administration on the basis of a Ukrainian school.
The investigation established that he facilitated the integration of the institution into the Russian Federation’s education system: he organized the transition to Russian educational standards, the implementation of the aggressor state’s curricula, and the use of the Russian language as the primary language in the educational process.
In addition, according to the investigation, the suspect was engaged in recruiting staff and students, conducted propaganda activities among parents, and also ensured the seizure of Ukrainian textbooks and their replacement with Russian editions. Ukrainian symbols were also seized and replaced with symbols of the Russian Federation.
It is separately noted that Viedrikov organized propaganda events for students, in particular weekly assemblies with the playing of the anthem of the Russian Federation and discussions of the occupying authorities’ news.
According to the investigation, the actions of Viktor Viedrikov have been classified under Part 3 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaborationist activity) and Part 1 of Article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (assistance to the state-aggressor).
