A deputy of the Askaniya-Nova village council from “OPZZh” was notified in absentia of suspicion of collaborationist activity.
This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
According to MOST, it concerns the director and co-founder of LLC “Vodokanal Askaniya-Nova”, Serhii Voronin.
The investigation established that in March 2024 Voronin agreed to head the occupation administration in the settlement of Askaniya-Nova in the Kherson region. He held this position until November 2025.
According to law enforcement, Voronin managed the community’s municipal sector, handled issues of selecting land plots for “investment projects”, and held receptions for local residents.
He also aided the spread of Russian television — ensured the operation of a satellite operator with a package of propaganda channels in the territory of the community.
In addition, Voronin participated in events of the occupation authorities and interacted with other representatives of illegal administrations in the temporarily occupied part of Kherson Oblast.
He is charged under Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Under this article, Voronin may face up to 10 years in prison.
Note that the cooperation of Voronin with the occupiers became known in March 2024. At that time, the Askaniya-Nova village council website indicated that in 2020 Serhii Voronin worked as an electrician for the Chaplynka village council. In the Askaniya-Nova village council he chairs the permanent commission on planning, budget and finance, economic policy and reforms, transport, construction and communal services.
