The court found a deputy of the Ivanivska settlement council guilty of state treason and aiding the aggressor state.
This was reported by the Kherson regional prosecutor’s office.
The investigation found that the 63-year-old deputy, during the occupation, collaborated with the Russians and assumed the position of the so-called “head of the Ivanivska operational section” at the occupation enterprise “Basin Department of Water Resources of Kherson Region”.
Using his “official position”, the man handed communal equipment to Russian military that was on the balance of the Ivanivska interdistrict water management administration. The occupiers used this equipment to construct military fortifications and transport personnel, including units of the so-called “People’s Militia of the DPR”.
By the court’s verdict, the man was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. He was also deprived for 10 years of the right to hold positions in government bodies and local self-government and to engage in activities related to the provision of public services.
Recall, the Kherson City Court sentenced Kherson resident Andriy Sharlai to 11 years in prison for aiding Russia.
