This year it is planned that farmers on the right bank of Kherson region will sow 20% more land.
This was said on air by the deputy head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Tolokonnikov.
“I cannot say that the number of demined territories has increased, because most of the undemined territories are in the coastal zone, but it is expected that more farmers will join the sowing”, — said the official.
According to him, farmers are already starting work in the fields, so this year an increase in crop yields is expected, including watermelons.
Last year, farmers in Kherson region managed to harvest over 264 thousand tons of grains, pulses, industrial crops, vegetables, potatoes, watermelons and melons.
However, due to explosions from Russian explosives and drone attacks in the fields 43 farmers were injured, 15 were killed.
