Four representatives of the Kherson region made it into the UP100 list “Edge of Choice/Choice on the Edge”, which presents a hundred Ukrainians who today shape the country’s independence and future.
The list is presented on the Ukrainska Pravda website.
This year’s theme “Edge of Choice / Choice on the Edge” was born from the sense of the time in which we live. It is about that fragile line on which Ukraine stands today. That is why this year’s hundred are stories of people who make choices on the edge. Leaders who make decisions where others remain silent. Those who take on responsibility when it is the hardest, writes Ukrainska Pravda.
The list is divided into six categories – Defenders, Society, Public Administration, Business, Culture and Sports.
Thus, the representative of Kherson in the Defenders category was the senior inspector-pilot of the flight safety service of the Army Aviation Command, colonel and Hero of Ukraine Євгеній Соловйов from Chornobaivka.

Three people from Kherson region made it into the Society category:
- Agrarian, public figure and head of the Association of Farmers of Kherson Region Олександр Гордієнко, who died as a result of a Russian drone strike on September 5, 2025.
- Former mayor of Kherson Володимир Миколаєнко, who spent three years in Russian captivity.
- Volunteer from Kherson Григорій Янченко, better known as Uncle Hrysha.

The UP100 awards ceremony took place in Kyiv on November 26. It was attended by Володимир Миколаєнко and Григорій Янченко.
