Due to a significant deterioration of the security situation in Kherson Oblast, fewer residents are staying in the region for the summer.
This was reported by the Deputy Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Tolokonnikov on the broadcast “We Ukraine”.
“In spring, about 10% of people (of the total number of the oblast’s residents) used to arrive, and in autumn they would leave. Now they come, see that this is the situation, especially in the coastal areas, and do not stay. They look at the house, tidy something up and leave. They do not stay for the summer”, – the official said.
Tolokonnikov also emphasized that due to constant attacks by Russian forces, the security situation in the coastal zones is only worsening.
At the same time, according to current data from the Kherson Regional Military Administration, about 150,000 people currently live in the de-occupied coastal area of the oblast, of whom 60,000 – residents of Kherson.
