In November, the level of air pollution in Kherson increased.
This is evidenced by data from the Laboratory for Atmospheric Air Pollution Monitoring of the Kherson Hydrometeorological Center, which analyzed 924 samples at three stationary posts during the month.
Specialists measured the content of eight pollutants – dust, sulfur dioxide, sulfates, oxides and dioxides of nitrogen, carbon monoxide, phenol and formaldehyde.
The average daily concentrations of pollutants in the atmospheric air, in multiples of the MAC for the city of Kherson, were exceeded for the following contaminants: nitrogen dioxide – 4.56-6.47 and nitrogen oxide – 1.41-2.83.
Compared with October, emissions of nitrogen dioxide and phenol increased in Kherson.
Overall in November, 98 cases of exceedance of the norm for nitrogen dioxide were recorded (frequency – 64.5%) and 4 cases of exceedance for phenol (frequency – 2.6%).
The Hydrometeorological Center notes that the increase in concentrations of harmful substances is directly related to the intensity of hostilities.
