More than 80% of residents of the Kherson community consider it necessary to honor the memory of the war for Ukraine’s Independence in the form of a memorial. However, the majority of respondents tend to believe that erecting such an object should be done after the end of hostilities.
This is evidenced by the results of a sociological survey conducted at the request of the Kherson City Community Foundation “Zakhyst”.
According to the study data, the idea of creating a memorial has strong support. As of April 2026, 77% of respondents support the creation of a commemorative site, but after the end of the war; 9% believe that it should be done now. Only 6% spoke out against the creation of a memorial.
