American journalist and war correspondent for the publications “Byline Times” and “Euromaidan Press” Zarina Zabriska was awarded the Order “For Merit” III degree.
The corresponding decree was signed by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
Zarina Zabriska was awarded for her significant personal contribution to the development of domestic journalism and the information sphere, high professional skill and dedication demonstrated while covering the events of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into the territory of Ukraine.
The award ceremony took place on the occasion of Journalist’s Day.
As a reminder, Zarina Zabriska has lived in Kherson since 2023. She is the author of the documentary film “Kherson: Human Safari”. The film gathers the entire tragic chronicle of the city’s war history – from the invasion and occupation to resistance, liberation, ecocide and the transition to a new chilling era of drone warfare.
The premiere of the film took place in June this year.
