An FSB agent who attempted to leave a bag with a homemade bomb at the entrance to the regional territorial recruitment center in Kherson was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
This was reported on the page of the Security Service of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, the perpetrator was an unemployed resident of Cherkasy, recruited through Telegram channels offering “easy money”.
It is noted that after the first test task — arson attacks on relay cabinets of the local branch of Ukrzaliznytsia — he was dispatched to Kherson to prepare the bombing of the territorial recruitment center (TRC).
The agent received from the FSB the geolocation of the explosives cache and installed on his phone a program for control by the Russian security services. During a search, officers seized a homemade explosive device and a phone containing evidence of communication with the handler.
The court found him guilty under Part 2 of Article 111 (state treason) and Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 113 (sabotage) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The man was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
