After a Russian shelling of the Shumenskyi microdistrict of Kherson, which injured a family, medics continue to fight for the lives of the wounded children.
The condition of the children was reported by the deputy director of the Kherson Regional Children’s Hospital, Stanislav Bumbu, the Kherson Regional State Administration (HOVA) reports.
According to him, the most severe condition remains with the 3-year-old girl. The child has an explosive injury and multiple shrapnel wounds to the head, chest, abdomen, and limbs.
After receiving first aid, she was transported to Mykolaiv, where surgeons operated and removed fragments from her head.
It is noted that the child is under medical supervision. After her condition stabilizes, she is planned to be transferred to “Okhmatdyt”.
The girl’s 6-year-old sister was also injured. She has an explosive injury and shrapnel wounds to her back. The girl underwent surgery; her condition is assessed as moderate, and there is no threat to her life.
The mother of the children is in serious condition. She has shrapnel wounds to the abdominal cavity and limbs, contusion, and a traumatic brain injury. Doctors continue to fight for her life.
Recall that on the evening of May 27, Russians shelled a playground in the Shumenskyi microdistrict with “Grads”, where parents and children were spending time.
The father of the injured girls was killed on the spot.
