Law enforcement officers announced suspicion against a 23-year-old resident of the Kherson region who helped the occupiers conduct illegal elections.
The Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported this.
According to the investigation, in March 2023 he agreed to the offer of representatives of the occupation administration and took the position of head of the department of organizational and methodological work of the so-called election commission of the Kherson region.
In this position he ensured the implementation of the decisions of the occupation election commission, controlled work discipline and evaluated the work of commission members, effectively organizing the mechanism for conducting an illegal plebiscite.
He was notified of suspicion of collaborationist activity (Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The pre-trial investigation continues.
It was previously reported that since the beginning of the war in the Kherson region they have recorded more than 2.6 thousand crimes against national security.
