Maksym Zarichnyi, a 12-year-old boy from the village of Pidstepne of the Oleshky community in the Kherson region, has already raised more than two million hryvnias for the Ukrainian military.
This was reported by the Kherson Regional Military Administration.
Before the full-scale invasion the boy was involved in vocal music and managed to win 11 first-place awards at nationwide competitions, collecting dozens of medals and trophies. After the Russian invasion, Maksym and his family lived under occupation for two months, and in April 2022 they moved to the village of Ivano-Frankove in the Lviv region.
Since May 2022 the schoolboy has been actively volunteering: every Saturday he goes out to sing patriotic songs on the streets of Ivano-Frankove, performs at charity concerts, festivals and in churches. All the money he collects he donates to the needs of the army.
During last year’s Christmas holidays Maksym raised 16 thousand hryvnias – these funds were used to buy a drone for the military.
Overall, thanks to his performances drones, Starlink, generators, thermal imagers, binoculars, first-aid kits, equipment, trench candles and other necessary gear have been purchased.
It is known that Maksym’s father is currently serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
