Serhiy Prytula Charitable Foundation handed over ten DAF trucks to Army Aviation, which will help the military quickly deliver crews and ammunition to helicopters.
Army Aviation repels attacks by enemy drones day and night. Speed of logistics therefore plays a critical role in this work, because it determines how many Shahed drones will not reach Ukrainian towns and villages. Five aviation units that carry out combat missions to defend Ukrainian airspace received reinforcements.
These are: the 18th Separate Army Aviation Brigade named after Ihor Sikorsky; the 11th Separate Army Aviation Brigade “Kherson”; the 12th Separate Army Aviation Brigade named after General-Khorunzhy Viktor Pavlenko; the 16th Separate Army Aviation Brigade “Brody”; the 120th aviation commandant’s office.
“DAF trucks are needed to transport aviation strike means when assembling helicopter detachments in difficult terrain conditions. This transport is more economical, more compact and more convenient to operate than old Soviet trucks. This increases the speed of supplying crews that work to destroy the enemy’s strike UAVs”, — said the commander of the aerodrome-technical support battalion of the 11th Separate Army Aviation Brigade “Kherson“.

The new trucks will ensure the operational delivery of ammunition to the bases and operating areas of helicopter crews. Since centralized depots are becoming primary targets for the enemy, the military needs maximum mobility. This need is met by the DAFs, which make it possible to quickly transport what is needed to any point regardless of weather conditions or road state.
The purchase was made with a donation of 10 million hryvnias from the national energy company “Ukrenergo”.
“Army Aviation is one of the key elements of the multi-layered air defense system. During Shahed attacks it is the one demonstrating high effectiveness. But for this you need not only helicopters, but also a fully equipped infrastructure for rapid response. Therefore, Army Aviation turned to the Foundation with a request for large off-road trucks. Such vehicles provide the delivery of crews, ammunition, and other equipment to takeoff or landing zones”, — commented the head of the military direction of the Serhiy Prytula Foundation Bohdan Danyliv.
According to information from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, from August 2024 to August 2025 Army Aviation helicopters with machine-gun armament destroyed more than 3,200 Shahed drones.
The Serhiy Prytula Foundation continues to systematically strengthen Ukraine’s air defense. During the full-scale war, the Serhiy Prytula Foundation has supported Army Aviation with 60,745,349 hryvnias by providing flight helmets, radios, receivers, drones, antenna systems and other critically necessary equipment.
