The occupation leader of Kakhovka, Pavlo Filipchuk, was sentenced for the second time to 15 years imprisonment for collaborationism.
This is stated in the relevant court ruling.
The investigation established that in the summer of 2023 Filipchuk voluntarily put himself forward as a candidate for deputy to the illegal authority — «Council of Deputies of the Kakhovka Municipal District» from the Russian party «United Russia». After the illegal elections were held in September 2023 he was declared elected as a deputy, and later, at a session of the illegal council, appointed «head of the district» for a term of 5 years.
The court took into account that the defendant knowingly acted in the interests of the aggressor state, supporting the armed aggression against Ukraine under martial law. In imposing the final sentence the previous verdict of the Suvorovskyi Court of Odesa from November 2024 was taken into account, according to which Filipchuk had already been convicted of treason and collaborationism.
For the aggregate of crimes, the court imposed on Pavlo Filipchuk the final punishment in the form of 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of all property. He is also prohibited for 15 years from holding positions in government bodies and from participating in the electoral process.
