In Kherson, the Greco-Sofiivsk Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God was damaged by Russian shelling.
This was reported on Telegram by the Kherson Eparchy of the UOC.



As a result of the attack, the building and the church grounds suffered damage.
There is currently no information about any casualties.
It should be noted that the Greco-Sofiivsk Church is considered one of the oldest buildings in Kherson. The church’s particular value is its Greek wooden iconostasis, which is about 450 years old.
In recent days, Russian forces shelled the cathedral in Kherson, which is an architectural monument from the early 19th century.
Recall that Kherson region is among the top three regions of Ukraine with the largest losses of cultural heritage since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion. According to official data, 297 cultural heritage sites have been recorded as destroyed in the region.
