The amount of damage caused to the atmospheric air in Kherson region as a result of the Russian Federation’s armed aggression amounts to over 146 млрд 203 млн 127 тис. hryvnias.
These figures for the period from 24 February 2022 to the beginning of February 2026 were published by the State Environmental Inspectorate of the Southern District.
The environmental damage was caused by systematic shelling and fires that occurred as a result of hostilities. Inspectors assessed the negative impact of combustion products and other harmful emissions that entered the atmosphere.
Currently all materials and calculations have been handed over to law enforcement agencies — for inclusion in criminal case materials and to the operational headquarters at the State Environmental Inspectorate of Ukraine — for further response at the state level.
Recall that environmental damages to Kherson’s nature reserve fund exceeded 845 billion hryvnias.
