It became known about the death of a serviceman from the Beryslav community, Oleksandr Polovynkin.
This was reported by the Beryslav City Council.
Oleksandr Polovynkin, born in 1983, was a junior sergeant, commander of a crew of unmanned aerial systems of the 1st platoon of remote mining of the engineer-sapper battalion of military unit A4733.
He was born in the city of Prymorsk, Zaporizhzhia Oblast, spent his childhood and youth in the village of Vodoslavka in the Kherson region. Since 2009 he resided in Beryslav, where he worked as head of the facilities division of PJSC «Beryslav Machine-Building Plant».
In October 2022 he voluntarily joined the ranks of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served on the Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk and Sumy directions. In 2022 he was wounded in Pokrovsk Raion of Donetsk Oblast, but after treatment he returned to service.
For his service he was awarded the President of Ukraine’s distinction «For the Defense of Ukraine», the Minister of Defense’s distinction «Cross of the Air Assault Forces», and in November 2025 — the Order «For Courage» III degree.
Oleksandr Polovynkin was killed on 27 December 2025 in Pokrovsk Raion of Donetsk Oblast while carrying out a combat mission. He was buried in Kyiv.
