In Mykolaiv, a foster family from the Kherson region, which raises four children, was presented with a housing order. The house was purchased with funds from a state subvention.
This was reported by the Mykolaiv City Council.
The Ostapchuk family moved to Mykolaiv from the Kherson region after the start of the full-scale war. According to Lyudmyla Ostapchuk, before the invasion the family had their own home, but they experienced occupation and were later forced to leave the house.
After settling in Mykolaiv, the couple decided to create a family-type children’s home. The new housing was purchased with state funds, and the city authorities and international partners took part in its arrangement, including the Olena Zelenska Foundation, UNICEF, the Ukrainian Foundation for Public Health and SOS Children’s Villages Ukraine.
The house is currently equipped with everything necessary for the children’s living, education, and leisure.
Recall, last year two large foster families, who lost their houses in the Kherson region, received new homes, built with funding from the Government of Estonia through the Estonian Centre for International Development (ESTDEV).
