In Lviv, police officer from Kherson region Artur Artyukh was awarded the Order “For Courage” III degree.
This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Police.
The President of Ukraine’s state award was presented to the veteran by Oleksandr Baklan, head of the personnel support department of the Lviv Region Police.
Artur Artyukh is a former senior inspector for special assignments of the explosive ordnance disposal unit of the Kherson Region Police, a police major. On March 25, 2022, while carrying out special explosive ordnance disposal operations in Mykolaiv, he suffered severe injuries as a result of the detonation of cluster submunitions. The police officer sustained multiple shrapnel wounds to the head and limbs.
After the injury he underwent lengthy treatment and rehabilitation in Denmark, and later in medical facilities in Ukraine. He is currently continuing his recovery in Lviv.
Despite the severe consequences of his injury, he hopes to return to service after rehabilitation.
