In the temporarily occupied part of Kherson Oblast, the so‑called authorities of the Russian Federation plan to build bicycle lanes, bike parking, and rental points in Skadovsk.
This was reported by the Unified Institute of Spatial Planning of the Russian Federation.
According to the occupiers, the bicycle lanes are allegedly intended to connect most of the city’s residential neighborhoods with its center, “the beach area” and social facilities, as well as cover territories designated for new multi‑apartment residential construction.
Specialists of the so‑called Transport Infrastructure Planning Department of the occupation administration plan to lay nearly 51 km of bicycle lanes, install 30 bike parking facilities and 17 rental points.
The occupation press service notes that the project’s implementation would allegedly allow residents to travel without using motorized transport, which, according to the Russian Federation, would contribute to reducing emissions of harmful substances.
Recall, on the left bank of Kherson Oblast they announced plans to increase the area of green spaces in the Skadovsk city community, which it itself destroyed.
In addition, the occupation authorities announced plans to “expand Skadovsk” and develop new facilities on the coast.
