Kherson Regional Oncology Center will transfer radiation equipment for temporary storage.
As stated on Prozorro, the medical institution entered into an agreement with the state enterprise “UDVP Isotop” for the amount of 102,480 hryvnias. This is the price for equipment storage services that will be provided during 2026.
According to the contract, the enterprise will store the radioactive head of the TERAGAM K-01 gamma therapy device.
As stated in the procurement justification, the need to evacuate the equipment arose due to the critical condition of the oncology center building, which sustained significant damage as a result of continuous Russian shelling.
The destruction of load-bearing structures and engineering networks made it impossible to comply with radiation safety standards on site. The continued presence of hazardous materials in the damaged premises created a real threat of a man-made disaster and risks to the lives of staff and city residents, the document states.
Under the terms of the contract, the equipment will be moved to a specialized warehouse where the enterprise will provide a full cycle of security and technical maintenance.
Recall, on the night of December 21, 2024 Russian forces hit the oncology dispensary in Kherson by air. Two KABs were launched at the medical facility. As a result of the attack patients and medical staff were not harmed, but the building suffered significant damage.
