The Central District Court of Mykolaiv has imposed a preventive measure on a 66-year-old resident of Kherson suspected of disseminating information about the locations of Ukrainian military forces. The woman was remanded in custody without the right to post bail.
This was reported by the press service of the Central District Court of Mykolaiv.
According to the investigation, the suspect transmitted information via Telegram about the locations of Armed Forces of Ukraine units in Kherson. In particular, she pointed to sites in residential areas and near educational institutions.
Law enforcement recorded that after the transmission of this data, Russians repeatedly shelled the indicated areas with gun and rocket artillery, and also carried out drone strikes. In addition, the woman tracked and reported on the movement of military equipment near her home.
During the hearing the prosecutor emphasized that the woman also actively posted comments on social networks in which she justified Russian aggression.
The suspect herself acknowledged her guilt in court. She stated that she realized the illegality of her actions and promised not to engage in such activities anymore.
The judge ruled: detention in custody without the possibility of release on bail. The pensioner is accused of violating Part 2 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. For the committed offense she faces 5 to 8 years of imprisonment.
