Investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine have announced suspicion against Kherson resident Angelina P’yatakova, who participated in organizing and holding an illegal referendum in the Kherson region.
This was reported in the notice of suspicion on the website of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
According to the investigation materials, in September 2022 P’yatakova voluntarily agreed to the proposal of the occupation administration and took the position of a member of the so-called election commission of the Kherson region.
During the preparation and conduct of the pseudo-referendum, she coordinated the actions of other participants, recruited people to vote, and conducted briefings on the completion of election documents.
In addition, P’yatakova participated in public events alongside representatives of the occupation authorities, including the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
Members of the election commissions carried out door-to-door visits accompanied by armed Russian military, which deprived people of the possibility of a free and secret choice. As a result of such activity, the occupation commission declared the alleged participation of more than 497 thousand people, the notice of suspicion says
For these actions Angelina P’yatakova is suspected of collaborationist activity (Part 2 of Art. 28, Part 5 of Art. 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The investigation continues.
