Systemic and prolonged power outages in temporarily occupied settlements of the Kherson region are the result of deep degradation of the region’s energy and municipal infrastructure.
This is stated in a post by the Center for Countering Disinformation.
Despite statements by the occupation administration about allegedly difficult weather conditions, the real causes are systemic in nature.
According to the Center for Countering Disinformation, during the occupation power grids, substations and communal utility facilities are virtually not maintained. The Russian authorities do not carry out full-scale repairs and do not invest funds in modernizing infrastructure, limiting themselves to only temporary and piecemeal solutions that are unable to prevent accidents.
In addition, some equipment was damaged or worn out due to constant overloads and the absence of proper technical control. Under occupation, specialists are not allowed to carry out full-scale work, and the shortage of materials and personnel only exacerbates the problem, the post says.
Earlier we wrote that residents of temporarily occupied communities on the left bank of the Kherson region are massively complaining about frequent and prolonged power outages, as well as the lack of information about the causes of accidents and the timing of power restoration.
Recall, last year the occupation-appointed governor of the Kherson region Volodymyr Saldo promised to ensure “stable electricity supply” on the left bank of the region. According to him, the occupiers plan to replace worn power cables to “ensure a reliable supply of electricity”, but mass power outages continue.
