The occupiers once again “counted” voters on the left bank of Kherson region.
This was reported by pro-Russian media.
According to the occupation election commission, as of January 1, 2026, 420,573 voters are allegedly registered in the region.
On what basis this and the previous number of voters were calculated is unclear, because a population census the occupation authorities have only planned for the 2024–2027 period, and a voter register on the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson region is absent.
Note that as of August 2020, according to data from the Ukrainian CEC, nearly 806,000 voters could have taken part in local elections.
Recall that in September 2026 elections to the State Duma will be held in the Russian Federation, including the temporarily occupied territories. On the left bank of Kherson region, the occupiers created one single-member electoral district.
