The Novovorontsovskyi District Court handed down a verdict to the former director of the lyceum from Velyka Lepetykha in the Kherson region, Svitlana Nedbailo, who headed a school seized by occupiers in Rubanivka.
This is stated on the website on the EDRSR website.
The investigation established that in spring 2023 she agreed to become the director of the seized school.
After that she began implementing Russian education standards in the school, arranged for a plaque with the name of the educational institution in Russian to be placed on the building, encouraged local residents to take jobs at the institution and suggested they cooperate with the occupying authorities.
In addition, she admitted pupils to the school, appointed class teachers, approved the curriculum, and ensured the start of instruction in Russian.
In the summer of 2024, Svitlana Nedbailo appeared in a photograph with a Russian Federation senator Konstantin Basyuk, who illegally visited the Rubanivka school. At that time, occupation public pages emphasized that this institution was the only operating school in the so-called Velykolepetyskyi district.
Earlier we wrote that the SBU announced in absentia a suspicion against a Crimean propagandist, who organized a network of fake news in the territory of the temporarily occupied south of Ukraine.
Having examined the evidence, the court in absentia found Svitlana Nedbailo guilty of collaborationist activities (part 3 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). She was sentenced to 2 years of imprisonment.
