The Security Service of Ukraine has announced suspicion against the head of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, Ella Pamfilova, who is involved in organizing sham elections in the Kherson region.
This was reported in the notice of suspicion on the website of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
According to Ukrainian law enforcement, acting in prior collusion with the highest political leadership of the Russian Federation, in September 2022 Pamfilova organized the holding of so-called referendums on the secession of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts from Ukraine and their accession to Russia.
In addition, in 2023 she ensured the conduct in the occupied territories of so-called elections to the occupation authorities as part of “single voting day”, and also organized the Russian presidential election process in temporarily occupied Kherson region.
Thus, Ella Pamfilova is accused of committing crimes stipulated by four articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: part 5 of Article 27, part 2 of Article 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — incitement to change the boundaries of the territory or state border of Ukraine; part 1 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — justification and recognition of Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine; part 3 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — the same actions committed repeatedly or using mass media; part 1 of Article 332-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — violation of the procedure for entry into and exit from temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine.
