A case has been referred to court regarding a technical supervision engineer whose official negligence caused the territorial community losses of over 489 thousand hryvnias in Kherson district
This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the investigation, the accused held the relevant qualification certificate and, under a contract with the local self-government body, carried out technical supervision of the major repair of a civil defense protective structure at one of the educational institutions in Kherson district.
In December 2023, the engineer, according to the investigation, improperly performed his official duties: he did not check the volumes and quality of the work performed, did not visit the site for control, and instead formally approved the certificates of completed works. As a result, information was entered into official documents about works that were actually not carried out by the contracting organization.
As noted by the prosecutor’s office, due to the engineer’s official negligence, the Kherson territorial community suffered damages totaling more than 489 thousand hryvnias. This is confirmed by the conclusion of the judicial construction and technical examination.
Criminal proceedings against him were opened under Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Earlier we wrote that in Kherson region a technical supervision engineer was notified of suspicion of official negligence that caused nearly two million hryvnias in damage to the state.
