Among Kherson residents there is a growing demand for autonomy in heating and power supply systems.
This became known from the results of a survey conducted by the Kherson Community Fund “Zakhyst”.
It is reported that 65% of surveyed Kherson residents support the idea of autonomous heating in individual dwellings. Another 52% of respondents spoke in favor of using boiler systems in multi-storey buildings.
Interest is also growing in alternative, decentralized power supply sources. Solar panels received the most support; their use is approved by 67% of respondents. Wind turbines are supported by 42% of respondents.
In addition, Kherson residents are considering the possibility of using collective fossil-fuel generators and swappable high-capacity batteries.
Recall, earlier to Kherson about 500 gas heaters, together with cylinders of liquefied gas, arrived.
Prior to that, in early December 2025, as a result of systematic Russian shelling the Kherson CHP stopped operating. It is impossible to predict the timelines for restoration due to the danger to repair crews.
According to the latest data from KhOVA, without heating in the city 10 thousand subscribers remain. Heaters have already begun to be distributed to some.
