On the left bank of Kherson Oblast, plans were announced to increase the area of green spaces in the Skadovsk city community.
This is reported by the Unified Institute of Spatial Planning of the Russian Federation.
According to the occupiers, the relevant intentions are set out in the community’s project “general plan”, in particular it refers to an analysis of the environmental situation and the formation of the so-called natural-recreational framework of the territory.
The occupying authorities claim that the current area of parks and squares within the settlements of the Skadovsk community is 19 hectares.
The project of the so-called master plan allegedly provides for the improvement of two existing green zones with a total area of 7.58 ha in the villages of Ostropodlyanske and Tarasivka, the creation of new green areas with an area of more than 101 ha, as well as the placement of specially designated green areas with an area of more than 194 ha by 2045.
However, recall that in 2023 in the captured Dzharylhatskyi National Natural Park, which is located in the Skadovsk district, Russian military wanted to shoot wild animals, engage in water passenger transportation and the restaurant business.
Also in 2023 information appeared that the Russian military filled the isthmus between the island Dzharylhach and the occupied part of Kherson region with sand to use it for military purposes. This threatened the island’s ecosystem and its waters. There the Russian army allegedly established a military training ground.
Note that since 24 February 2022 Dzharylhatskyi National Natural Park has been under Russian occupation. The park includes the island Dzharylhach, the waters of the Dzharylhach Bay, as well as the coastal strip between Skadovsk and Lazurne.
Earlier we wrote that the occupation authorities announced plans “to expand Skadovsk” and develop new facilities on the coast.
