Kherson shopping mall Fabrika remains remains one of the priority tasks for Budhouse Group, but work can begin only after the security situation stabilizes and the city’s constant shelling ceases.
This was reported by the company’s press service to the agency “Interfax-Ukraine”.
At present Budhouse Group is focused on managing operating centers in Cherkasy and Lviv, where steady growth in turnover has been recorded. Construction projects in Zaporizhzhia and Odesa, as well as the restoration of Kherson’s “Fabrika”, are officially suspended for now. The company is waiting for the opportunity to safely begin reconstruction to bring the largest retail facility back to life.
The Fabrika shopping mall, located on the territory of the former Kherson Cotton Mill, was destroyed by Russian forces at the start of the full-scale invasion in March 2022, when the Russian army entered the city. As a result, a fire broke out in the building, and State Emergency Service personnel were unable to extinguish it due to constant shelling.
Later the burned shopping mall building was repeatedly shelled by Russians, and before that the establishment had experienced looting and robberies by some former visitors.
Fabrika also entered the top 10 shopping malls affected by the war, according to the Association of Retailers of Ukraine (RAU).
