The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a number of decisions to support farmers from frontline regions, including Kherson Oblast.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko announced this.
In particular, the government approved a compensation mechanism for farmers from frontline communities who suffered as a result of adverse weather conditions.
In Kherson Oblast, the assistance will cover more than 250 agricultural producers who last year lost about 60,000 hectares of crops and suffered losses of almost UAH 2.3 billion.
The amount of compensation will be up to UAH 4,700 per hectare of lost crops. Submissions of applications will run from February 10 to 28 through the State Agrarian Register.
In addition, the government adopted a decision to support the restoration of vegetable and fruit infrastructure.
Under the program, the state will compensate 50% of the cost of building storage facilities for enterprises operating in the combat zone, and 30% for farmers from other regions.
It is noted that the relevant initiatives were developed with the participation of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.
Earlier it was reported that in 2025 farmers on the right bank of Kherson Oblast lost almost 60,000 ha of crops.
In 2025 the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council urgently asked the government to resolve the issue of immediately providing state support to the farms of Kherson Oblast to save them.
