According to the occupiers, from February 1, upon the birth of a child in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, including the left bank of Kherson region, they will allegedly pay almost 28.5 thousand rubles.
This is reported by pro-Russian media.
Also, according to promises of the occupation authorities, in 2025 this payment was allegedly received by more than 9.9 thousand families from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
Specifically, in the temporarily occupied left bank of Kherson region — allegedly 445 families, in the temporarily occupied Luhansk region, according to the Russians — over 3.9 thousand families, in the temporarily occupied Zaporizhia region — 1.7 thousand families, in the temporarily occupied Donetsk region allegedly — 3.8 thousand families.
Note, since January 2025 at least 27 Russian regions have introduced payments for young mothers, including pregnant full-time university students and schoolgirls. In most regions, the conditions for these payments apply to young women up to 25 years old. In March 2025 a number of Russian regions expanded the payments to pregnant schoolgirls.
Earlier the occupation authorities of Kherson region claim a “rise in the birth rate”, according to their data, in 2025 more than a thousand children were born on the left bank of the region.
Also, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a meeting on demographic issues, said that in Russia “the readiness to have children is growing”. The greatest desire to become parents is allegedly found among people in the temporarily occupied Kherson region, which Putin also considers Russian territory.
In addition, in schools in the temporarily occupied areas of Kherson region the occupation authorities planned to introduce a course to stimulate birth rates.
