Mykolaiv law enforcement officers have notified Kakhovka resident Iryna Karpachova of suspicion for organizing and conducting an illegal referendum in the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson Oblast in September 2022.
This is stated in the text of the suspicion published on the website of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
According to the pre-trial investigation, in the first half of September 2022 in the city of Kakhovka, at the “Meliorator” House of Culture on European Avenue, they formed and ensured the operation of the so-called precinct election commission No. 511.
The investigation established that Iryna Karpachova was appointed a “member of PEC No. 511”.
From September 23 to 27, 2022, she took part in organizing and conducting the illegal referendum on the secession of Kherson Oblast from Ukraine and its accession to the Russian Federation.
In particular, Karpachova was present at the polling station, issued so‑called ballots, checked voter data, encouraged participation in the illegal vote, and took an active part in its conduct.
Iryna Karpachova is suspected of committing a criminal offense under Part 2 of Article 28, Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — collaborationist activity committed by prior conspiracy of a group of persons.
Earlier we wrote that SBU investigators notified Kherson Oblast residents Serhii Manuylenko and Yevhen Kyrylov of suspicion, who took part in organizing and conducting the illegal referendum in the Skadovsk area regarding the region’s accession to the Russian Federation.
