In January 2026 the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office announced suspicions against 78 people involved in cooperation with the Russian Federation in the Kherson region.

Among the suspects are the leaders of the occupation administration, the so-called «governor of Kherson Oblast», members of illegal armed formations, pseudo-law enforcement officers, «deputies» from Russian parties, pseudo-judges, organizers and perpetrators of the pseudo-referendum, as well as persons who ensured the functioning of the occupation authorities.
“According to the materials of the investigation, 12 people headed by the so-called «governor of Kherson Oblast» took part in the creation and activities of an illegal armed formation — «Volunteer Battalion named after V. F. Margelov». As part of this formation, the suspects directly take part in hostilities against Ukraine”, – reads the post.
Most actions have been qualified as state treason, collaborationism and assistance to the aggressor state.
