In Kherson, police explosive ordnance disposal technicians destroyed PFM-1S anti-personnel mines with which Russian forces remotely mined the grounds of a medical facility in the city center. The dangerous explosive devices were found in the Korabelnyi district.
The press service of the Kherson region police reports this.
During the inspection of the area, law enforcement officers found five mines. EOD technicians disposed of them by controlled detonation.
Police emphasize that Russian forces have stepped up remote mining of Kherson’s residential neighborhoods. Frost and snow create an additional danger — under such conditions mines can detonate unpredictably and remain hard to detect.
Law enforcement officers urge residents and visitors of the city to follow official announcements and not to travel along potentially dangerous routes until checks are completed.
Recall, the day before in Kherson recorded cases of remote mining — anti-personnel mines were found on Mykolaivske Highway near the hospital of the Regional Blood Service Center.
Mining was also recorded in the Dniprovskyi district: at the corner of Illia Kulyk and Shyroka (General Vydryhan) streets.
