On January 18, educator and writer from the Kherson region Anatoliy Vysotsky passed away.
This was reported by the head of the Kherson regional organization of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, Valeriy Dolyna.
Anatoliy Vysotsky was born in 1937 in the village of Novodymytrivka, Velyka Oleksandrivka district of Kherson region. He studied at the philological faculty of the Kherson Pedagogical Institute. By profession he worked in general secondary education institutions and in educational administration bodies.
He published his first poetry collection «I Give to You» at the end of the 1990s. In total he is the author of over 10 books, among them the collections of lyrical poetry «Fatherland», «Ancestral Traits», «You Are in My Heart».
During the temporary occupation of Kherson, Anatoliy Vysotsky remained in the city together with his wife Larysa, suffering from serious health problems. After the liberation of Kherson and the start of shelling, the couple moved to Kyiv. At the end of 2022, Anatoliy Vysotsky’s wife Larysa died as a result of a serious illness.
