Earlier it was reported that on January 17, near the temporarily occupied city of Oleshky on the left bank of the Kherson region, an evacuation vehicle with local residents and a volunteer exploded on a mine.
At that time one person died, the driver and a female passenger lost their legs. They were evacuated to the hospital.
Recall that Russian troops occupied the city of Oleshky on March 17, 2022.
On April 24, 2022, the Russians announced that they were taking the city under their control.
According to the legitimate authorities, as of 2025 about 3-4 thousand people live in Oleshky. In total, no more than 7 thousand people live in the Oleshky community. Mostly these are elderly people and people with limited mobility who cannot leave, and those who care for them.
