The Uzhhorod City District Court has handed down a verdict to a resident of the Komyshany settlement, Oleksandr Semennikov, who worked for the occupiers in the seized colony in Kherson.
This is stated in the court’s ruling.
According to the investigation, in July 2022 Semennikov took a job at the seized Colony No. 90 in Kherson and was appointed junior inspector of the 2nd category of the colony’s security department with the rank of private of the internal service.
On the eve of the de-occupation of the right bank of Kherson region, the Russians moved the colony’s administration to the left bank of the region, and Semennikov left with them. But later he decided to return to Ukraine, and in April 2025 he was detained by law enforcement. Since then he has been in custody.
According to Semennikov, he took the job at the colony due to difficult financial circumstances and the need to support a large family, including his parents and three children.
At the trial he repented and admitted his guilt. The court took into account his sincere remorse and active cooperation with the investigation, but recognized his actions as collaborationist activity that undermines the foundations of national security.
Semennikov was found guilty under part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and was sentenced to 6 years of imprisonment without confiscation of property.
Earlier we wrote that a Kherson resident was sentenced to 8 years for serving in an occupation colony of the Russian Federation.
