In temporarily occupied Henichesk in Kherson region, the case against the former acting occupying Minister of Health of Kherson region Vadym Ilmiiev was sent to court. The occupiers accuse him of large-scale embezzlement and corruption.
This is reported by pro-Russian media.
According to the occupiers, Ilmiiev organized a scheme to appropriate budget funds that were intended for paying doctors’ salaries and supplying the region’s medical institutions. In addition, he is accused of receiving multi-billion bribes for “lobbying” contracts to supply medical equipment.
During searches at Vadym Ilmiiev’s, significant amounts of cash were seized, part of which he had already managed to convert into dollars. Among the finds were a collection of expensive watches, jewelry, and works of art. Also seized was a Toyota Land Cruiser SUV that he registered in his mother’s name.
Pro-Russian media also write that while already in custody, Ilmiiev tried to buy himself “comfortable conditions” in the pre-trial detention center. For a bribe of 1 million rubles he wanted to obtain special privileges, adding another count to his list of charges.
Recall, Vadym Ilmiiev was appointed by the occupiers to the post in summer 2022. Before the full-scale invasion he was known in Kherson as a pro-Russian politician.
In June 2025 a Ukrainian court in absentia found Ilmiiev guilty under part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaborationist activity) and sentenced him to 10 years of imprisonment with confiscation of all property belonging to him.
