The occupying prosecutor’s office of the Kherson region reported sending a criminal case to an illegally established court against a 59-year-old resident of the Novotroitsk community in the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson.
This was stated in a message from the occupying authority.
The woman is accused of “public calls for extremist activity on the internet.” According to the investigation, from July 2023 to August 2024 she allegedly posted on a social network messages calling for violent actions against a group of people on the basis of nationality.
She is charged under Part 2 of Article 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — public calls to carry out extremist activity committed using the information and telecommunication network, the Internet. Under Russian law, she may face imprisonment for up to 5 years.
Earlier it was reported that an occupation court sentenced a 61-year-old resident of Kakhovka to 19 years’ imprisonment for alleged public calls for extremist activity.
