The wards of the “Kherson Regional Children’s Home”, who were illegally taken out of occupied Kherson Oblast almost three years ago, were distributed by the occupation administration to specialized institutions in Crimea and handed over for upbringing to Russian families.
This was reported by the so-called senator of Kherson Oblast, Kostyantyn Basyuk.
In particular, 47 Ukrainian children were placed in the Simferopol Children’s Home “Yalynka” — an institution intended for children with central nervous system damage and mental disorders.
It has now become known that 42 children from this group have already been placed with families of Crimean residents, while another five Kherson toddlers remain under supervision in the special institution.
Note that Russia deported at least 20,000 Ukrainian children, although the exact number is unknown due to the ongoing war and occupation; Ukrainian authorities have identified about 19.5 thousand of them with approximate locations, and about 800 (or 1,880, according to other sources) have been returned.
