The candidate for the position of an appellate court judge, professor of the Department of Criminal-Law Disciplines of the Institute of Law and Security of the Odesa State University of Internal Affairs, Oleg Shkuta, has significant land assets in the Kherson region, a collection of hunting firearms and large cash savings.
He published the relevant information in his declaration, the media report.
According to the declaration, Shkuta owns a land plot of almost 34 hectares in the village of Bekhtery in the Skadovsk district of Kherson Oblast. He acquired the land in 2015.
Also the family owns two apartments in Kherson: one of 65.6 m² is in shared partial ownership, of which 25% belongs to his wife, the other — 65.8 m² — is in joint marital ownership of the spouses.
The main source of the candidate’s income in 2024 was the salary of a professor at the Odesa State University of Internal Affairs — 569 thousand hryvnias. In addition, he received 17 thousand hryvnias for work as an expert for the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance, as well as social payments as an internally displaced person for himself and his wife.
Shkuta’s family (his wife and two sons) actually reside in the village of Kryzhanivka in Odesa Oblast, while being registered in Kherson.
Among movable property the candidate declared a Ford Edge car, 2016 model year, purchased in 2022, as well as a collection of hunting firearms. It includes Blaser R93 carbines with additional barrels, Browning BAR, smoothbore shotguns Browning A5 and Benelli. The total value of the collection at the time of acquisition was over 210 thousand hryvnias.
The family’s cash assets are declared in significant amounts: 82 thousand US dollars, 44 thousand euros and 233 thousand hryvnias in cash. At the same time the declaration indicates interest-free repayable financial assistance to his own advocate association in the amount of over 776 thousand hryvnias.
Oleg Shkuta is also the ultimate beneficial owner of three legal entities — the private enterprise “Firma AVB”, LLC “Advocate Company “Shkuta and Partners”” and an advocate association with the same name. He manages them on an unpaid basis.
At the same time the declaration does not contain data about a place of residence in Odesa, where Shkuta works as a professor.
