Former journalist from Mykolaiv Andriy Dvoretskyi, who in 2014 switched to Russia’s side, conducts so-called “lessons of courage” for schoolchildren in temporarily occupied Skadovsk in Kherson region.
This is reported in a Suspilne article.
According to journalists, in 2014 Dvoretskyi went to Donetsk region, where he joined the “Vostok” battalion. Later he began to present himself as a “war correspondent” for pro-Russian media, including the channel “Novorossiya TV”, and from autumn 2014 he worked in the information service structure of the occupying “ministry of defense” of the so-called “DPR”.
The Mykolaiv outlet “Novyny N” reported that Dvoretskyi took part in the interrogation of a Ukrainian prisoner of war, and also commented on the battles for Donetsk airport for propaganda outlets. In 2021, according to the Center for Journalistic Investigations, he served in a reconnaissance unit of the 100th Separate Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade of the “DPR”.
In 2022 Dvoretskyi was offered a position in the occupation administration of Snihurivka district of Mykolaiv region. Before the liberation of Snihurivka in November 2022 he left for temporarily occupied Skadovsk, where he remains to this day.
In September 2023 Dvoretskyi publicly called for participation in the pseudo-elections to the so-called “Kherson Regional Duma” organized by the occupiers. He recorded the video appeal in Skadovsk.
The Security Service of Ukraine announced two charges against Andriy Dvoretskyi — for collaborationist activity and for disseminating materials calling for a change to Ukraine’s state border. In May 2025 the Snihurivskyi District Court of Mykolaiv region sentenced him in absentia to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. The verdict took legal effect in June 2025.
According to Suspilne, Dvoretskyi is currently the head of the regional branch of the Russian organization “Boyove Bratstvo” in Skadovsk and takes part in events of the city’s occupation administration.
